Zoe ...let loose
My first night out.
The night - Saturday 4th December 2004
The location - Extra Time Bar, Barbican, London
The Club - Trans-mission
Club entry £7, Drinks £1.50, Everything else ...Priceless!
For a long time I had longed to go out dressed en-femme, and I made my new years resolution that 2004 would be the year that I finally made it out. So a few months had passed and I began to think, "I've got to do this" so chatting to my friend Evette one evening I suggested going out maybe in December to somewhere like Transmission, she agreed and so the plan was made I then invited Amber jay along who didn't need any persuading and straight away agreed. Then I asked my wife Yvonne if she would like to come along and although a little nervous she did agree!
So it was all set Myself Yvonne Evette and Amber will be going to Transmission in December of 2004, This was all arranged back in July/August so it seemed an age away, My how fast it came along! Before I knew it, it was November and with the hotel and transport down to London arranged, Next came the outfit.....Oh what to wear!...Now I've got a few clothes (And the rest!!!) but should I buy a new outfit or stick with what I had already, In the end I did but some new make-up, Fishnet Tights and some new jewellery the outfit you will see below.
Skipping forward to 4th December and an early start to get the train from Sheffield to London. We arrived at 12pm and went straight to the hotel to see if we could check in a little early, Unfortunately we couldn't, the room was still not ready, Not to worry we left the bags and headed off to Oxford St for some retail relaxation, Should have known it was probably the busiest shopping street on earth so not much relaxation but we found a couple of bargains that didn't stretch the bank balance too much!
The afternoon passed by and we eventually checked into the hotel. We popped out to get some food from the shop over the road, and once we had eaten I started to get ready it took about 2 hours in all what with having a bath make-up etc.
Then the time came we were all dressed up and out we headed into the hotel's hallway, down in the lift, past reception and out into the chilly night air (Note - Must get a girly coat if doing this again!) we walked past a lot of people, some not even bothered about us some just looking and smiling, It's funny, we spend alot of time wondering what other people will think and 95% of them just weren't bothered about us, perhaps we worry too much??
The club was in sight...I felt relaxed, like it was so natural and what a wonderful feeling it was. When we went in it was already quite busy so we ordered our drinks but couldn't find a seat it was already quite busy, we headed upstairs and found some seats next to the dance floor we watched and danced a bit I saw the lovely Michaela Marbella strutting her stuff on the dance floor looking gorgeous, I just wish id gone and said hello to her! I saw many others that I thought I recognised but wasn't 100% sure maybe we should all wear badges to these events???
All to quickly the night was over and we headed back to the hotel room tired but very happy. We took one final picture before bedtime and set our alarms.
We woke in the morning to the mess we had left the night before, which is not what you want! But hey us girls have to make a mess its our prerogative!
We had a couple of hours to kill before the train home so we went for a quick photo outside the club in male mode and headed off to Covent Garden for something to eat.
Although I'm writing this 3 days after it all happened I still feel like smiling every time I think about it and as you will see the pictures turned out very well.
(One below, Please see my fotopic site for the rest)
Its just left to decide when and where were going next........Well we decided and that was something a little closer to home in fact Les Femmes in Sheffield. A report will follow on another page.
